How does air conditioning work?
Indoor unit
The indoor unit draws warm air from your room and passes it over a cold heat exchanger. Refrigerant flowing through the heat exchanger absorbs heat from the air, while moisture condenses on its surface and drains away. A fan then circulates the cooled air back into the room.
Outdoor unit
The outdoor unit releases the heat absorbed from inside your home into the outside air. The compressor increases the refrigerant’s pressure, allowing it to release heat through the outdoor heat exchanger. The refrigerant then circulates back to the indoor unit to repeat the cycle. In heating mode, the process reverses, allowing the system to heat your home.
